    Vacuum switch??

    1997 Inruder 150GLEUE
What does the vacuum switch do? i've noticed that mine isn't held in place by anything, i can just take it out and it just "flops" around in the hole, i see on the evinrude parts website that is should have an O-ring and a c-clamp type ring,
so could this be an issue?

Monitors the amount of fuel going into the system, if it senses a fuel restriction above 4,500 RPM it sounds the alarm to notify you of a possible lean condition. It doesn't put you into SLOW mode though. If yours is threaded you can replace the nut if missing, if it is smooth then you can replace the retaining ring and wave washer.
