    Lowes marine/outdoor carpet?

The new Lowes just opened in town and I was there prowling around and noticed that they sale a marine carpet (Stratos gray). It comes in 12' width and sales for $5.64 per linear ft. Rubber backing, uv/mildew resistant and 2 yr warranty. Kinda thin and stiff though. Anybody ever used this carpet on a boat?

I know that some of the threads on here that I have read indicated that they used it with acceptable results. Not as nice as some of the other brands, but cheaper. The problem I have with it is you can buy really good stuff from bassboatcarpet.com or Bass Cat for around 8/ft. So for another $40-50 you get premium carpet. It is a small part of the total $ and you won't end up doing it again for a long time. I'd spend the extra if I had to buy it. Mine came with the boat, so I used what I got.

I work at Lowe's and used it in my old Tracker with great results. But you're right, it is a
little lighter and cheaper than what you find in most bass boats. Basically what I'm saying
is, that it was perfect for my $2000 Tracker. But I wouldn't put it in a $20,000 Cat, Ranger, Triton, (etc.).

I considered it also, haven't decided yet--not to hijack, but what about using it for trailer bunks?? Would look sharp to have same carpet on boat and trailer--is it tough enough for bunks?

I am using Home Depot outdoor/marine carpet on my bunks and they lasted well, it also did fine in the deck extension I did on my ranger, and the casting deck I built on my old aluminum.

It lasted 7 hard seasons with no major wear.

I just recarpeted my Ranger using Lowes upgraded carpet, I got 30 feet for 145 bucks. It is definitely not as plush but it was easy to work with and looks fine. I can't say how it will wear it has only been down a couple of months.
