    ranger 350v

    ranger 350v

Well I bought this boat a month ago and the previous owner was restoring it lil by lil....here is some of the stuff that was done before i got it....

    -new carpet
-new dash panel ( but cut up when previous owner when installed switches)
    -lateral bumper guard
    -minn kota 65at

-Took her out on the water noticed water seeping into the boat from some where, I suspected the livewell hoses and fitting at the transom. so i took all the hoses out which they used garden hose.....

-Well upon further inspection I want to replace the wiring on the boat (all of it) not a fan of messy, frayed, unsafe wiring on a boat!!!!

Im gonna rewire the entire boat, install new livewell hoses(bilge, aerators) clean all the dirt out of the rear compartment and whatever else I run into. also looking at a Flow-rite live well system!

Also want to get windshield, new bunks on trailer with carpet, new paint on the trailer, and wet and buff the entire boat!!!!!!!! So this will be a time comsuming project and will get u guys updated!!!!!!

Buff out a spot with some oxidation remover first. That might be all you need to do to it.

    Re: ranger 350v (igs65)

Oh the wiring good god im on my last few wires here. I think the guy before me owned a pair of wire strippers and no clippers. I removed no kidding 18.75 LBS of excess wire from the boat. I was dumbfounded..

Not to mention it was wired with everything from regular wire to speaker wire

Some people just shouldnt touch tools.

Nice and clean now though and OMG everything works like it should. My jackplate now goes up AND DOWN lol

I know what you mean coloradoman - and I know what's ahead for Will! When I first got my boat I removed dozens of overlaid, redundant circuits. Looked like every previous owner that had some kind of problem would just run a new wire instead of fixing the problem!

keepus posted i had a 350V and it was a great boat.....i would get some Champ cleaner from nuhull they are a board sponsor...spray it in the back of the boat and let it set 10 minutes and take a garden hose to it it will make the basecoat back in there look brand new and no work involved spray on wash off...it works killer....

Wow, looks like a nice boat except for that wiring. If it makes ya feel any better, it doesnt seem as if the factorys wire them up real clean either.

Thats gonna be a nice boat when you're done. If you are rewiring it you might consider adding an auto feature on your bilge pump. Its kinda handy and its only a matter of adding the float switch, changing the dash switch out for a DPDT, and adding one wire.

    Re: (boostedone)

My 84 350V is going through some of the same paces. My livewell system leaks as well. I rewired the boat and replaced all the gauges this past spring (I need to get some pictures up) I did install a automatic bilge pump it worked nice for letting me know that the livewell was leaking. I sanded down, repainted the trailer then rewired it and installed led lighting it is looking pretty good. Next on the list is the top cap that the previous owner clearcoated then the carpet!

I like the color on your ride! It looks almost like mine.

I want to know how you removed the transducer?
