I used the 3M 777 Spray Cement on my last boat....the new owner is rough on her and 4 yrs later....carpet still holding good. I am gonna recarpet my current boat next weekend.....getting more 3M 777 spray.....
I'm currently doing a carpet replacement, and I'm using the 3M 77 spray on the lids and corners, and indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive for the main areas.
Working good so far, the spray has a VERY potent odor, make sure you use it in a ventilated area.

Contact cement from Lowe's. I just did my ranger 375V and it took almost 2 gallons. Make sure you put glue on both the boat and carpet. Let it dry and get good and tacky before you lay it down.

I used indoor/outdoor carpet adhesive for the main deck areas. I believe it was Roberts 6700 that I purchased at Home Depot. I used Weldwood contact cement for the lids, as the carpet had to be wrapped around the lids, where the carpet adhesive won't grab right away.
If you choose to use contact cement for the whole boat, you only have one shot when laying the carpet down. If you use carpet adhesive, you have time to reposition the carpet and such.

Contact cement from Wal Mart. Just make sure it's the outdoor or waterproof type.
Good Luck, I just completed mine a couple month's ago. All the hard work will pay off![]()
If you use the carpet adhesive be sparing with the stuff. When you roll the carpet with a pipe or roller it will make a real mess on the edges if you have too much. I used a 1/4 inch notched flooring trowel. It put too much on the deck as I went edge to edge with it.
Stay way inside the edges and use contact cement to place the edges tight. The work WILL be worth it in the end. And take pictures before and after.
