    bilge pumps

    if you have and old bass boat chances are you have one of these pumps. i hope you all have removed it as there not really reliable. this is a 71 lovett auto/manual bilge pump. the old school rigging was to have the pump discharge into the splash well near the moter..
    it was screwed to the bottom of the boat.



    this is it removed-the black pipe is a sealed wire.


    remove the screen and ya get this.-notice the float


    take the top off and they look like this.. yeah i thought the same thing -i can't belive it still works..



    not sure what year the thru hull bilge came into being..
    i probly will be replacing this with an 850 gpm rule bilge pump. kinda glad this boat don't have a live well that would be a mess ..
