Hello all, I'm new to the forum as well as new to the bass boat world. I have the oppurtunity to purchase a '94 or '95 18' stratos with a johnson 150 faststike engine. This is all happening rather quickly so i will have to give more details on the boat as i talk to the owner more. He's asking $1500 for the boat, which i thought was a good deal, it comes with a trailer and a jackplate as well. Everything is in decent condition except for the motor. I asked him if he'd let me borrow the boat so i could look over the engine to determine what needed to be fixed on the motor. The first thing i did was check the compression on it and the lower two cylinders on the left side read 0 for compression, it didn't move the gauge at all and the other 4 cylinders all read in the mid 90's. Any clue on what I should be looking for to be causing this? Is $1500 for a boat like this with a blown motor even a good deal? I'm clueless. Thanks!
