Well, ive come to a stand still on my recarpet project. I mentioned in my last post about my floor damage.It appears that at one time my boat experienced some pretty rough trauma ,enough to pull floor board up from where it was glassed to hull ,it even cracked glass by my cup holder on passanger side.Here is my dilemma, There was some soft wood when i uncovered, i cut it out, part of bad wood runs under passenger side console ,I cant get to the rest (I dont think) with out lifting top cap .Since ive found delam where floor meets hull, i'm thinking I should go ahead and lift top cap. But i don't have what it would cost to have cap lifted and I don't have the means to lift cap myself. ANY ADVICE??? Thanks ND

Most of use were stumped as to how to remove the top cap. Read all of the post pinned at the top of the Resto page. Build some sort of frame and buy a couple of cheap cable style cum-alongs. I pulled mine apart outside and just kept things covered with tarps.

thanks Larry! Did you have a problem putting cap back on? Ive been told hull will sag and could be real tough to go back together. Also , im sure you probably took motor off, right?

Had no problems with the hull sagging and yes the motor was off. Look at the post at the top of the page that says Skeet'r89 Transom rebuild.
