Acetone - about $5 on debit mastercard
Scraper - about $2 on debit mastercard
Enough time and patience to work on the project without going insane - PRICELESS
Sorry, I couldn't resist. Pull the carpet up the best you can, scrape the rest and use acetone to get rid of the larger pieces of glue that still remain. No fun at all.
I just replaced all my carpet, I used a lot of elbow grease and a chisle adn started scrapping. it eventually all came up. just takes some time.
Just removed the carpet off of mine last week. I just pulled corner of the old carpet up to get my fingers on it and then slowly kept pulling back with a buddy using a putty knife to help scrape it off. After all the carpet was off, there was still a heck of mess of glue on the floor, so i got the ole razor scraper out and about 30 blades. The razor alone got most of the glue off of the flat surfaces and around the edges and stuff, I used some lacquer thinner and a plastic scrub sponge. It wasn't very easy, but a lot of elbow grease and a whole lot of time later, it is all off.
Starting out.
After the carpet was removed and glue scraped off.
Good Luck![]()
