1994 Bass Tracker TX (Updated 7/3/05)

I'm almost done with the front deck and have the rear deck about 1/2 was done. I wanted to post a couple of photos of the front deck in the meantime. Full set of photos will follow:

Front deck look awful when I first bought the boat. Carpet had worn through in several spots and prior owner "patched" one large spot.

I drilled out all the screws, removed the front deck and recarpeted the entire area. So much better.

I've pulled the carpet up on the rear deck and will soon lay the new carpeting. I'l leave the floor and risers off the floor as they are... for now.

Yeah... I'm going to have plans on that day :)

It really is had work removing all the hardware and the old carpeting from the boat. I think the easiest part is actually laying the new carpeting down but it can only be as good as the prep work before hand. Don't do a good prep job and the end results will not be worth all that work.

The other nice thing about doing the work yourself is that you know your own boat, inside and out! As i went along I improved on several things such as the wiring and some other things as well.

Great job! There is nothing like piece of mind by knowing your boat inside and out.

It is actually possible to get "done"?

You mean done... before the next job?

Alright... I'm just about done with the rear deck! Only need to mount one more lid and pop a couple of handles in. Everything looks really good. It was a BEAR getting the rear engine compartment lid pop rivited in. The first rivet kept popping out before I could put another one in. Then I would have to drill it out and start over. I hate pop rivits !

While I plan on putting together a few web pages on the rebuild, I'll post a couple of pictures of the rear deck here first. I'm glad it's done.... happy it looks good, but gald it's DONE!

P.S. Just bought a handheld Garmin GPS. Bought one of the "large" leather phone holders for sale at Walmart. The entire front end is open, it has grips on the the sides and a small one on the bottom. Clips very nicely on my front windshield. About $8. Nice GPS holder.

Got the rear deck done this evening. About 2 1/2 days work. I'm glad it's over. How about a before and after shot:

    Before:

    After:

Some nasty old carpet on the boat when I bought it. Glad it's all gone. I'm very happy that the rear deck now matches the front deck (new carpeting).
