My front and rear casting decks carpet is so pressed down it looks like cement, but in the rod lockers, and under the passenger console it's soft and plush. Is there a way to fluff up the casting decks or do I need to replace it all

a pressure washer at a car wash will work pretty good![]()
even better, vinegar and water, 50/50 solution and a scrub brush...this will clean it real well and give it a shine and bring it right back up![]()

i have always used the car wash keep us posted...It still always seems to lay back down rather fast...
Car was sprayer will eventually eat away the glue holding the carpet down...
After cleaning per Bassman23 use a carpet rake to stand the fibers up.

I have used a wire cat brush with pretty good results before....I have never foud anything that will keep it looking new for very long![]()
I was just going to post a question about carpet and bringing it back to life. First I will say that I go about it with the pressure washer on high soap. I go against the grain and then rinse with high pressure rinse. After I am rinsed I use the high pressure vacuum against the grain. Remember that most boat carpet is installed without grain and the boater actually determines the grain of the carpet by how they walk. I then take a wire brush and rake the carpet to lift it up. Here is were I need some help. I just heard that I should use Downy fabric softener in the spay bottle to get the carpet back to being soft. Is anyone out there using this?
what about the high pressure wash removing the glue....I hear alot of comments about that.

I have never had a problem with the glue on my carpet and I do it a bunch. I also tested the Downey fabric softener last night and it really works. I will be doing the rest of my boat today
So do you use the fabric softner after you clean it, then spray on? I'm curious what your process is.![]()
No kidding, do you clean the carpet, rinse it, then put the softner down? Do you rinse the softner out of the carpet?
