Non Skid or Carpet

Has anyone used non skid instead of carpet on their decks? If so any problems or disadvantage's.... I am redoing the desk on a 77 Ranger and considering this option.. Are other colors available instead of black? Thanks

i would use carpet because it will be quieter...use non skid on aluminum boats

You'll have ta do something.the non skid will be tough on the rods and reels

Non skid is hard on the body and hot in the sun. I would stay with carpet.

But if you really want non skid, make your own.

Buy the paint of choice and some washed sand or glass beads. Apply paint and broadcast/scatter the material (sand or beads) over the wet paint, the paint will adhere the material and you are in business.

Non skid mix has the material completely coated and the non skid ability is reduced.

The above recommendation is how we non skid aircraft hangars.
