    riveting question.

i am going to recarpet my ranger 370v and it is an original condition 1981 model...my question is that there is some metal or aluminum around my lids of my compartments with rivets on them. how do i take the metal off to recarpet them and how do i find or restore these so that it looks original again??? thank you in advance

    Re: riveting question. (Bassman23)

when we replaced the carpet on our 80 we simply drilled out the pop rivets holding the aluminum on the lids and pulled the carpet off. Probably a 3/16 pop rivet so try a 3/16 drill bit first

after re-carpeting we used the same aluminum piece and simply riveted it back in place
