    What to expect?

I am going to start messing around on the set up of my boat. Current Stats:
    '09 BCB Sabre with a 150 E-tec
    Prop - 22P Raker 2
Motor is at 4.5" below pad
    Speed at WOT 63mph
    RPM 5500
    WPsi 25+
Full tank, tourney load, just me in the boat.

I plan on putting the motor up to 3.5" below pad, as this is where I am told is the starting point for this motor/hull combo. What can I expect to happen when I do this? I would think that the RPM would go up, lose some WPsi and possibly gain MPH. But would like to know if my assumptions are correct and input/experiences you guys have had with setting up boats.

Once I have the height dialed in I have a somewhat beat up "Old 24" that I am going to thrown on to see what happens.

    Any input would be appreciated.

Do you have a jack plate? If you don't you are probably at or near max height now. If you have a jack plate move it up to 3 1/4". Watch your WP at WOT and try to find a 23" tempest plus prop or a 24" raker. That old beater will probably hurt more than help.

+1, Start at 3 1/2", raise till you lose water pressure, lift or speed. Get the old prop fixed for a spare.
