    Depreciation

I hit a log and cracked the mid section on my 00 Opti. I got the estimate and sent it to the ins co. The midsection is $1752(part only not including labor) from Merc. The ins company said I would only get 8-900 because of depreciation. Is this common, the way I see it no matter how old the part is, the new one costs 1752.

    Re: Depreciation (518Ranger)

This is typical with a Actual Cash Value policy. They are replacing 11 year old parts with new ones. Most Agreed Value policies do not have depreciation on partial losses. This is one of the reasons I came to this site. I educate ny clients prior to a claim so there are no surprises. Thanks Bob Luellen
