    New to the bbc

Howdy felllers. I'm fairly new to all this computer stuff but been fishin since I was big enuf to walk. Started tourney fishin in Poca River Bassmasters club back in 1986 and fished until 1992. Sold my old boat to spend more time with the kids in all the stuff they were in to. Bought another boat and got back into the club again and my dad passed away so I had to take another hiatus for awhile. Now that my kids are mostly grown and on their own and things are more manageable with my mom I decided to get me an all out tourney fishin rig and get after it again. I got a 2001 Ranger 520 DVX that is fully rigged with about all the goodies. I got it from Denver Marine in Denver,NC they're a great bunch of guys. This thing belonged to a heart surgeon in Charlotte and only had about 40 hours on the big motor. Livin in Winfield the Kanawha is right in my back door. I like fishin Sutton and Stonewall but haven't been to either for awhile. When I was fishin regular I loved fishin the Ohio River also. Hopefully I'll run into you guys on the water sometime. I'm gonna fish our club tourneys and try and work in a few federation events and maybe a couple of Bobby's Trail of Dreams tourneys.

Doug I only fished the Kanawha about 6 times this past year. It's gettin to be a smallmouth river seems like. Not much of a largemouth like it was 20 years ago. I'd say the biggest reason for that is all the silt in the backwaters and the Poca River. Alot of the spawning ground for the lmouth is disappearing. You can't even access half of the amount of Armour Creek that used to be able too. But anyways I managed to catch some fish though. Me and a friend of mine fished the Make-A-Wish benefit tourney and finished 26 out of 65 boats in July. Then in Sept. we fished my old clubs open tourney and finished 4th out of 30 boats and cashed a check for $300 dollars. What was great about this was me and my partner hadn't been on the river fishin for about 8 years but with a little bit of practice we were able to beat some of the guys who've been really hittin it pretty hard out there for years. Alot of the guys were catchin some big stringers of smallies down on the Buffalo Pool below the Winfield locks some where but I didn't have a chance to go try it out though. All by the way the big catch at Summersville you were readin about on WV Fedeation Board that was my cousins that caught those. One of the smallies he had weighed 6lb 2oz his personal best ever. I was talkin to his son the next day after that and he said when he went to net the fish he thought his dad had a carp on.
