    2009 250 HO ETECH fuel??? problem(we got a cure)

My friend who is a guide is having problem with his motor. It will run about 5 mins. +/- at 4000 to 4500 rpm and then just go dead. No light no warning sounds. He can pump the bulb up and it will go again. We replaced the bulb and same thing. Dealer replaced the fuel pump yesterday because it was making noise. Same thing. Dealer hooked it up to comp. and it shows no problem. HELP!!!!

Sounds like the anti-siphon valve in the fuel tank is sticking!

+1, Sounds like it's time for some clear tubing and a vacuum gauge.

We got a fix on this according to my friend. I have not checked out the details about what i heard but some of the Etech guys on site can verify. The dealer told the guy he replaced a fuel filter(?) that was bolted to or close to the fuel pump. This is not the water separating fuel filter. It was full of junk and when he replaced it this cured the problem. This boat has had about 5 cases of oil run thru it.Whether it was some bad gas or some rigging items(alum. Fuel tank) that stopped the filter(?) they do not know. One of you guys tell us about this filter if there is such a thing. If this is what they did it did cure the problem.
