    Chautauqua Lake

    Can anyone give me some information on Chautauqua, is it a very good bass lake?
    What kind of structure does it have and what kind of depths are we talking about?
    I'm considering a trip there in July...
    Any info would be helpfull...

    very good bass lake in fact lots of LM. you can find a contour map on the NYS DNR website, but its more like 2 lakes: southern basin 20 ft max, nothern has more structure and is up to 70 ft depth. lots of weeds up shallow-they run wedcutters in the summer in some of the shallow flats

    one of my favorite lakes. we're renting a hourse there the 1st week of July

    I've read results of opens there in Oct... 5 smallmouth over 25#s...
    been there once in the summer... busy lake... lots of fish to keep you busy...
    day trip it to Erie if its calm...
