Going to be in the Geneva area this weekend - dont have a boat to bring, but was curious if the shore fishing on Seneca is worth lugging a rod and some tackle along with me?
Wife's in a wedding so I am gonna be bored on Saturday...

im no expert on the lake but been there a few. here's what I know. you can fish at the state park on the north end, east side. if they let you fish in and around th harbor it could be good before or after boat traffic. don't bother with the very north end of the lake its a sandy shallow swimming area-no structure to speak of but on both sides of the lake there I a nice drop off with in casting distance. sm and pike are in there and should tight in to docks etc and shallow because of how cold the lake is overall. also the seneca cayuga canal I hear is even better than the lake itself for warm water species. nys has fishing easements if you check around or road overpasses are all set with fishing easements on either side for 100 ft I think it is.

Never made it out, as I decided lugging a rod and some gear wasn't worth the risk of not getting access to anything fishable, but I regretted it after seeing the canal!
What a beautiful day it would have been if I had a boat. Nice and calm on the north end!
