Hello all,
Need to know if anyone ever fish saratoga lake before? Going up there 6/22 for a dash for cash and will not be able to pre-fish. Never been there and can not find a map. Is there any one out there that can help me please.

hey... Saratoga Is a great place... look for deep weedlines and jig or worm around the lake... some smallmouth this time of year but won't win you any dash money... right by the ramp is a stewarts shop... next to it is Saratoga tackle... they have a full supply of baits and maybe a map... (is this event at the state ramp?... if not then disregard the stewarts thing...)
just read at basstrails.com that they are spraying for weeds...
lake gets real busy on a weekend!
alot of pike too...
my advise... big fish baits all day... jig, buzzbait, spook... fish where others Ain't...
water is real clear due to Zebra mussels so some bass are suspending away from the weeds... my 2 biggest bass the last 2 years have been on a jerkbait thrown way away from the weeds...
enjoy... we'll need a report after...
I talk to saratoga tackel today. Found a map, He will be mailing it to me. He did tell me that they used sonar from snake hill to fish creek. Would i be better off on the south end where they did not use sonar?

I love Saratoga Lake....some bigguns in there![]()
One of the best spots I have ever fished there is down by South shore Marina. When you launch from the state launch, hang a left, go under the bridge, and head south ...all the way to the end of the lake. You'll come up on South Shore Marina....I'm sure they'll be some boats there, it's a great spot. Stay about 50 yards from shore and fish the shorline contour....lots of fish holding weeds, rocks, and boulders

"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
Well Today was the day my wife and I hit Saratoga lake the the frist time for a dash for cash.. Blast of was at at 7:00am. At 8am my wife hit a 3.22 LM on a tube. Couple mins later I hit a 2 1/2 Lm on a crank bait. Ran to weight my wifes fish first. Start to say to my self this is going to be a good day. Then we had thunder storm for 3hrs. And I mean down pours. Did manage to catch a 3lb, 3-2 1/2lbs and bunch of two lbs on a drop shot. Also manage to cash a check.
All in all had a fun day. Will try Sarataga again.
Now it is on to Otisco Lake. allways a tough lake for me.
Any Help.
Mike

How many boats were there?
"The bitterness of poor quality remains long after the sweetness of low price is forgotten."
There where 17 boats. They said it was a low turn out. Maybe because of gas prices or the weater. had a change to talk to some nices guys from albany and a guy that fishes team usbass.
if you guys are free july 5 there is a tournament in redfield ny on the resavore. Theres a team and single event. Low price with 100% payout. Was told it is a locale event with big turn out.

Gee... I'd say the turnout was in part due to opening weekend and a bunch of Saratoga guys were on lake george...
