    Spectacle Pond boat launch warning.

Went to spectacle pond off of Rt119 in litteton, ma just south of groton. This was the steepest launch I have ever seen, with some of the biggest ruts. I looked at it and questioned whether I would be able to pull the boat out. I went for it anyway and made it out ok, but make sure you have a good 4-wheel drive truck or SUV. Also make sure you get it straight on the first try going down the launch cause there is no stopping once the boat and truck are on the hill. Skidding will comence. On the way out someone was fishing from the shore told me the launch mustof been fixed sometime recently because it was in worse shape before.

I won't be going back here because of the rocks that spun at the boat trying to get up that steep A$$ mountain of a launch.

The lake itself might have potential. I didnt have much luck until the sun was starting to set, and got nothing big, but there was a lot of cover and many drop offs. I was not expecting the pond to be that deep.

Re: Spectacle Pond boat launch warning. (callan)

That place is awesome but the ramp is a killer I haven't been there since I got my ranger but when I had my small boat I was there atleast once a week.
It's the first place I was able to catch multiple 5 pounders they were like pets used to be able to call your shot.

Ya as far as the ramp goes I know it got washed out last year with the early spring floods we had and I heard it was a LOT better than it was since it was fixed..............

Wish the ramp was better, the pond looked like it had everything to produce the big ones. The ruts in it are just crazy.. I imagine the rain from the remains of the last two hurricanes didnt help much.
