First Trip Out Today

Just went to Greenfield State Park (Otter Lake) in the morning with my Dad, then to Sunset lake with two friends. Wanted to stay local and stick to small ponds just in case something went wrong with the motor with firing it up for the first time this year. Not a damn thing wrong.

I got first fish, most fish, biggest fish, and the most important for bragging rights, last fish. First fish came on a spinner bait, nice chunky 2.5-3 lb largie, and then really had to fight for some bites on the jig the rest of the day. Tough tough day, but caught 5 on Otter, and another 8 on Sunset. Sunset was loaded with bedding smallies, but nothing of any size yet. Still, all in all a good day.

This Sunset lake is also in Greenfield, less than a 5 minute drive from launch to launch. Place is tiny, but has some decent fish in it, you can troll the entire shoreline in about 3 hours. Oh, and I have to say Thank You again for that chartreuse spinnerbait you hooked me up with last year, that's what I caught my first fish on yesterday. I love that spinnerbait.
