XD-50. It is a semi-synthetic blend and has an additive known as Carb-X added to cut down on the amount of carbon in your motor. You should still decarb once a year or every 100 hours. If you want the top of the line then XD-100 is the ticket. Fully synthetic. No decarb needed after an initial decarbing. Little pricey though unless your dealer carries it in bulk.
so it is ok to run the xd100 in my older motor? thats basically what i was wondering. ill spend the cash to run top of the line if its ok for my engine
XD 100 is all that I run in my 96' FastStrike !!.................................RR

That is all I run in my 200 has well. I know you don't have to decarb but I still do just to keep it all clean.

What about Amsoil?, I have been looking at it over the xd-100 considering it is $20 a galllon cheaper
Stroker DC21 Mercury 250 XB
I also have been looking at the amsoil. I posted on here the other night to get some feed back. Seahorse was the only feed back with a good read about gear lube. Other than that I can't find any negative results from using the amsoil
From what I've seen, online purchases of Amsoil or XD-100 are only 2.00 difference. For that I'll stick with the XD-100, simply because I know what it's done for my engine for the last 4 years. I'm not bashing ANY oil brand, just that the formulation of the 100 is specific with CARB-X which will actually clean my engine. With 190+ hours my engine is spotless and runs great. JMHO
I have a 03 175 hp johnson. It is carburated can I use xd-100. There is a big price differnce just tring to save myself some money in a tough economy, but don't want to do any damage do it.
amsoil hp injector-29.99 gallon

Amsoil or xd100 do i have to make any changes to my 91 johnson 200gt or just poor it in the oil tank?
I like to run the tank down kinda low and then just add the new oil! They are compatable though!
