jerk bait?

i have been seeing alot about fishing a weighted rouge at night but have never done it, can anyone tell me how to wieght them and how much to add, I am guessing you are trying to make them run deeper. If anyone could give me a lesson on this would be great.

I've never fished them at night but typically you're weighting them to suspend. I can't tell you how much to add but I use lead wire wrapped around the hook shanks to make my old Rouges suspend with a slight nose down altitude.

My guess would be that they are weighting it like a carolina rig. Not like you do in the
early spring. The suspending jerk baits are a site bait. You will need something like a
big sinker or a rattle to draw strikes at night on a jerk bait. My 2 cents worth. But again
I have never heard of using jerk baits at night and I have been fishing for 35-40yrs.
If it works, then someone has really been able to keep the secret on a "secret bait"!!!

Dragging treble hooks at night like that, that's one habit I can't afford.
