With all the tournaments this week at the Rock I would keep on driving down the Lead Hill and fish Bull Shoals![]()
Opinions will vary but I will always like the area from Joe Bald down to Indian Point. I realize that is a big area but by water it really isn't that far. Even with all the FLW boys running around yesterday I found plenty of water to myself and I just like the fact this area gives you a chance to catch all three species. As far as techniques with this front you might have to slow down a little and jerkbaits will probably be your best bet...main lake bluff ends, creek transitions or secondary points where you have mixed rock and some timber are usually best for me. Also, if the sun gets you you should try some pea gravel dock areas because those smallmouth are funny creatures and will bite that jerkbait on those sunny days. Another thing I would consider is to swim a grub in some of the same areas...that technique is always good for getting bites. The water yesterday ranged from 47 to 54 and I imagine that 54 will be a thing of the past by Saturday. If I can help any further please let me know and I am sure others will chime in.
Take care and best of luck this weekend
Cape fair will be PACKED this weekend, I'm gonna get there at midnight saturday night.
