Bass Fishing Thursday 3-2-06

My buddy David and I took a day vacation and went over to Old Eggfarm Lake which is just northwest of Gulfport Thursday bass fishing. I started out using a 1/2 ounce booyah jig black and blue with a zoom black with blue speckled chunk. David was using a mann's 7 1/2" red shad worm. The last couple of trips the jig has been very good. I finished the day with 17 bass (16 with the booyah jig) and 1 with a worm. David also switched to a booyah jig and finish up with 11 bass for a total of 28.

It appears the bass may be starting to bed. I did see a few spots where they have been fanning the bottom.. Here is a picture of David with one of the bass he caught.

thanks for the report, same story up here, been riding 4 wheelers up here in Greenville and have a few trails right to a area where they bed when the water is certain levels, and noticed the same thing in shallow water

You ever come down this way let me know and we can fish at Old Eggfarm Lake. The bass fishing has been very good all winter. I am thankful it is starting to warm up. I am ready for some spring bass fishing....

Will definetly take you up on that, i love the smaller ponds and lakes, some hawgs hide in those!
