    help for new lake fisher

hello. just got my boat (still learning how to use it.). i'm going to slowly start fishing st. clair by selfridge air base. i have seen some big fish flopping around the surface about 100ft from the bank. couldn't say what they were. what type of bait or lures would be good to start off with? i have both my reels spooled with 20lb fireline.

    thanks

99% of those are carp.... Get ya some dough balls made.

Drag some green tubes around the bottm and you will catch some smallmouth. Right now I'd be looking at fishing in the N channel, Middle or S channel, St Clair river. There always some in the lake though. Last time I was out we caught the bigger ones in 11-14 ft of water in sparse weeds, sand edge.
