Henderson bass back better than expected!

I'm real excited about Henderson lake. I have been catching bass that I find are unlike what we used to catch in Henderson. They are all short and fat-fat-fat! I can't say if they come from the river or the stocking being done since Hurr. Rita. Thursday evening at the dogfight we caught a 2.48 {which won us big bass} and several fish too small to weigh. A week ago Saturday I caught 5 that would have all made the cut in a tournament { caught in the blvd, on the levee bank.} today I caught 5 that were under 14" but awfull perty and agressive { caught on a bream color spinner bait }.I won't say where in case one of you guys will be fishin Thursday! right now the water is on a gradual rise so 5 ain't bad considering the rise. I plan on fishing Henderson at least 3 times a week and will keep you posted.

Where do you launch? I usually use Butte Larose. I may see ya over there.

Thanks for the tip, James! Went last week and only caught a few dinks, but it's still better than the last time! Would have caught more, but my paw-in-law was melting in the heat.

I too have been having good luck in the awamp..................like james said, we should have a very good crop of bass for next year....... everyone we catch is like a heavy football, just 13 7/8" long...........but they will grow up for next season for sure...........
it looks very good for next year if we don't get any bad storms to mes things up.....
