Just fished James 4/29/2006
Not many fish on their beds. Lot of fish marked and visually found on the shelves 8-15 foot down. We could not get them to eat.
Anyone else in the are get any other results?/Suggestions?
Thanks, Bucks

HOOK \'EM IN THE MOUTH !!
I fished the Barbee chain saturday from 7 am till 1 pm. Fished shallow all-day due to cloud cover. Saw fish cruising but none locked down. Caught fish on Pointer 68 jerkbaits, Yammamoto spider grubs on 1/4 oz heads, and also one on a Chart/white painted blade spinnerbait. {edit} Two fish were keepers, 28 totatl and most were about 13 in {edit} All fish were caught on the inside edges of isolated weedpatches at the mouths of channels and on flats.
The best tip I can give you for catching those fish is to back WAY off and make as long as cast as possible with very slow falling baits. If that doesnt work try small jerkbaits and flukes. Good luck and good fishing

HOOK \'EM IN THE MOUTH !!
The bass are on the beds!!! They won't be up for long. Full moon is this week.
Cold weather pushed them back off the beds. The reports I've been hearing this week is that the bite is extemely tough. Hopefully the bass will move back up this coming week.
