ABA coming to the Savannah River

American Bass Anglers District 26 is fishing the Savannah River on 12 Nov. http://www.americanbassanglers...=d026 For those who aren’t familiar w/ American Bass Anglers go to AmericanBassAnglers.com. http://www.americanbassanglers.com/ It is a true national trail for the weekend angler. Pros and guides aren’t allowed. Plus the entry fees are reasonable ($55) and they give away three fully rigged 20 ft bass boats at Nationals. They also have a bring your boat use your boat policy throughout the season.

I am trying to drum up interest in the ABA tournament on the Savannah River because if we get a lot of participants we may be able to have more ABA events on the river. As it stands now most of the Ts in the District are out of Clarks Hill. And w/ today’s gas prices I’d like to see more events closer to home.

I will be there!!!!! Anyone else? Non Boaters are welcome to fish also. Just register and show up, pay $55 and help the boater with cost of gas and you can fish in a great tournament trail.

Let's do a BBC lunch at Island Grill after the 12 Nov ABA Savannah River tournament. The Island Grill is close to the I-95 exit you will take to get to the ramp. So it would be convenient to all.

Re: ABA coming to the Savannah River (rlb8s)

Ok folks I just got back from two ABA tournaments up at clarks hill, well they(district 26) are finally coming to Savannah, we need a good turnout, if we can get enough people to show interest in this area then we could possibly have them schedule more events like this in the future. This is a fun tournamnet trail ran by good people- and you have to chance to fish at a national level event with the chance of winning one of 3 fully rigged triton boats plus cash prizes. The tourney is on NOV 12 out of the Houllian ramp in port wentworth, you can register at the event, it is 55 dollars for entry and 25 dollars for a yearly membership. Check out their website at http://www.americanbassanglers.com registration is easy and you can fish in any tournament, in any district you want. And you don't have to worry about club meetings.Come out and join and have a good time.

Billy: How did you make out in your tournament? I can't say Jason and I found anything that would help us w/ the ABA tournament, but it was a nice day on the water. Good fishing - Richard

Re: ABA coming to the Savannah River (rlb8s)

Rich - it was good to meet you guys even if for a brief moment. Our team ended with 57+ lbs to win the tournament more than 15lbs better than the next team. We split $1100 between us. Doug Morgan (one of our guys) took 1st place individual and had big fish. 2nd and 3rd place teams were ounces apart in the 42lb range behind us. All in all it was a good day. I had a few bad t's during the year so I didn't get to take my boat. I ended up with 5 fish for 7-15. Not too bad. 1st was 9-12. I caught alot of fish. Just couldn't put the big one in the boat. Look up my e-mail in my profile and I won't mind telling you what I have been doing. Maybe one day we can hit the river together.
