    Kissimmee Chain - 8/23/09 - Lake Kissimmee

didnt make it out to kissimmee on saturday (nice hangover) so I went out there today by myself. it was nice to get out and relax and think about some stuff and just fish at my pace.

i headed from cypress to lake kiss. and stuck to the west side of the lake due to the wind out of the southwest. I stopped near Philadelphia point and flipped the outside grass line first. I caught a keeper and missed one while flipping. I then moved inside and caught one on a chubby frog near some mixed grass in 2-3' of water...it was barley a keeper.

i then moved over to the area of mixed kissimmee grass and reeds infront of philadelphia point (grassy island maybe) and caught one and missed one on a spinnerbait. the one that i caught was 14".

next stop was a bit further south where i caught one on the chubby frog in some mixed grass. It was still pretty cloudy at this point.

i kept on moving south and found myself near brahma island in 4-5' of water with some good pads inside the outside grass line. on my first cast a nice fish blew up on my chubby frog and wound up in the boat. it was just at 4lbs. a great fish, in the perfect area for a soft plastic toad.

now the rain was coming so i timed the run from the south end of brahma island back to camp mack where i stopped for lunch (just after getting soaked by the first rain cloud!!) it takes just over 20min to make the run (not too bad.) I decided to head back to the ramp but had one final spot to stop on the way. I stopped at a regular spot to see if there were any fish present and landed a nice 3.75lber on a kissimmee blue gamber flap daddy craw. Sweet way to end the day.

I probably would have ended up with 5 going just at 12lbs for the day, not bad for a day mostly spent in new water!!!

i only had half a back and was pretty relaxed all day...part of fishing by myself i guess.

my dad is going to give it a go with a friend on friday, hopefully find some more productive spots!

YEAH.... I SHOULD! my girlfriend says im beautiful, but i keep her pretty darn sedated!

and i just set my camera up on 5 or 10 sec delay and set it on my pedistal seat on the bow and stand toward the console seats...works out pretty good. you can see the strap from teh camera in the second shot...

the air temp was reading 105 after the rain storm... so it was humid to say the least... almost jumped in a few times.
