Does anyone know if the channel is marked from Vine Prairie ramp to the main river? I've been told it's marked a portion of the way.

I dunno, Jason. Haven't been out on that section of river for a loooong time. I'm wondering also if any channel markers got moved around or lost during the high flows........
Hopefully, someone will be along shortly to fill us in...........![]()

well its been a while since i,ve been on bbc but i do know a thing or 2 about that part of the river and the channel is marked but not that well, the markers are far apart so you will want to take your time. also be carefull putting your boat in because it has silted in in front of the boatramp. this is a tricky place to run a boat if you have never run it. one wrong turn or get outside the channel just a little bit and you could tear up your boat.
I'm going this Friday and putting in at Vache Grass and will possibly make it up there at some point. It's been forever since I've been on that section of the river and things change.......
Thanks for the info.
Well, I didn't get up to V.P. today, but I caught 'em. Fished about 4.5 hours and caught about 15 lbs. dinking around. I'm going out of V.P. next week so I'll post something after that trip. Thanks again.
Finally got to V.P. today and it's treacherous! The channel is marked "somewhat" but it very dangerous for someone who doesn't know how to run the water. The guy I was with knew it very well and was surprised how bad it was.
Hope this helps someone save a prop or a lower unit.
