yeah that was me and my son, we were out trying to find more fish for next weeks tournament that me and my dad are going to fish. was you fishing deep with that worm? i'm still catching mine 10' or deeper. we fished whiteoak this morning, we went way up in the creek almost to the bridge. caught a few on buzzbait but no size. went back to the main river and caught a few good ones. stayed away from the areas i'm going to fish in the tournament. my son who is 6 and learning to use a baitcasting reel caught a few on a spinnerbait. did you fish the booneville club tournament? if not did you hear what won it?

no i didn't fish the tourney but stuck around for the weigh-in, 12.2 won it, big bass was 3.6, the guys who won it stayed up in white oak all day, they were in a older hydra-sport, if i was fishing it and got the one that got off i wouldof won big bass and maybe pushed the 12.2 mark... I was fishing any creek that feed into the main river and fished the mouth of it out to the main channel, was fishing anywhere from 10-25ft of water, i caught 4 on 4 stait cast on the worm, there was a guy in a bass tracker beside me when i lost that good fish, and even he got upset... oh well thats why they call it fishing instead of catching, haha!! Yeah I seen your son in there with you, looked like a future pro. haha, he'll probably be out fishing you someday... Im gonna go fish the dardenelle side next weekend maybe i can do the same over there! Hey good luck in your tourney next weekend!

glad to hear you caught some good fish with that worm. my son is already asking if he can fish tournaments with me. i told him he has to get a little better with the baitcasting reel first. good luck at dardenelle next weekend. what area are you going to fish. i know this time of year is a good time to fish around the spadra boat ramp because of all the tournaments out of there. i actually won a tournament 2 years ago fishing the riprap in front and in the pocket by the ramp using a bandit mistake 300 sereis crankbait.

    Re: Optichamp... (optichamp)

I took my little brother fishin a tourney about a month ago, he's pretty good lil fisherman but we didn't have such good luck! You know to tell you the truth I have never been to the spadra area, i think im gonna put in at Ozark and go that way... gonna see if there letting any water loose then if there not I was gonna run down river and see new territory, how far is it to the spadra area from ozark?? I know that the spadra are is very stumpy from what i hear... so i may just shut er down and fish my way back there, hate to run up in there and take out a lower unit, any tips on how to run up in there?

dont try and run spadra. there is not much reason to get back in there this time of year anyway. Now if you are talking about getting to the ramps or the bridge just stay about 150 yards off the bluff and you are in good shape dont cut the corner short coming from ozark that point is real shallow. it is around 15 miles from ozark to spadra via 64 so say 7 or 8 by river? if you want choices on where to go shoal bay is the place to put in you can go either direction from there.

i'm not talking about fishing up in spadra but around the boatramp on the main river and catch some of those fish released from all the tournaments out of there. getting to the boat ramp is easy just swing around the big island just off the main channel in front of the boat ramp. like arkbuck said shoalbay is always good place to put in because your right in the middle of all the good places to go.
