hey aaron glad to meet you
are you fishing the tacklebox tournament next weekend?
Welcome to the boardsYa this heat has them slowed way down... I went out this morning and boated 6, biggest just over 3lbs, funny thing was I didnt hardly catch a thing until about 9, seemed like they were more active in the mid morning time period for me.
Welcome aboard![]()
Went out today, and between my dad and I, we landed less than 10...biggest being around 2 lbs![]()
It seems to be very slow just about everywhere around here...

yeah its on the river out of ft smith park this sunday aug 6.
its a buddy tournament 50 dollar entry fee w/ $3500.00
guaranteed first place. there will also be hourly big fish weigh ins.
it's a memorial tournament for dennis brown who used to own
the tackle box. he died several years ago. was probably the best
fisherman around ft smith at the time. he won several redman tourneys
to register go by the tackle box.
hey guys, i fished a tournament saturday on the river and didn't even catch a measurable fish, what are some good tatics for the river at this time, i know that early in the morning is your best bet but, i have never fished the fort smith side of the river, i always stay on the dardenelle side, if i would of caught 3 decent fish i would of won the tournament but my luck didn't work out!
I'm not very familiar with the Ozark pool so I wont chime in with advice, but I will say that the rivers tough right now, no flow, its extremely hot and the waters about the clearest I have ever seen it.
BTW, welcome to the BBC![]()
Hey, Shane...........I think I'm gonna pass on the T this weekend. Me and some buddies are gonna fish Friday night, though.
I knew Dennis Brown from when he owned the TB........in my opinion, it's went downhill since he sold it...........![]()
Oh, well.........Academy is opening in a few weeks...............![]()

I try to stay away from the TB as much as i can, just feels like when i go in there im not good enough to be in there from the reactions i get...Thats fine i just oder from BPS, and its a little cheaper so its a win win situation for me! Hey im thinking about going down to little rock and following some of the pro anglers around during the BASS tournament in August, what do you guys think?
i worked at the tackle box when i was in highschool from 1990 to 1994 when dennis owned it and jerry
and danny owned a small part. it was definitly alot better when dennis was around,
he tought me alot about fishing, tackle and cleaning reels. nobody could tell a
story like dennis.
as for fishing on the ozark pool i'm catching a few keepers on 10" junebug worms about 10' deep on main river drops later in the day. buzzbaits in the morning.
I think I'm gonna do the same Haulin, was going to do that on Dardanelle this spring if they would of came back with the E50 but they didnt. Might be a little tougher to follow them on the river since I am sure a lot of them will lock and make big runs.
Oh where oh where did my fishing time go, oh I know can you say just bought four more acers that I'm fencing, putting in a 30' pool (me and the kids), work, and if that's not enough JURY DUTY to top it off.Welcome optichamp. Jay deer season is over Nov. 30 and crappie season starts Dec. 1 @ Monticello. Do you copy Jim.
We'll have to hook up down there so you can show us how to catch dem big 'ol crappieJim and I were actually talking about it the other day
Man I feel your pain about not being able to fish
but look at it this way, its 100 degrees out, its a good time to not have time to fish
My TM's in the shop again, so I guess I'm boatless bank trash at the moment.. danged ol MinnKota!! Dont believe em when they say that shaft is unbreakable, this is my second one to snap!

I plan on doing some tailing around myself when the big boys come to LR.
Has anyone heard if they will be able to lock thru? Since it is a major and there are only 50 guys or so, I didnÂt know if they would hold them to just the LR Pool.
Hadnt heard, but I would think that the first couple of days they are free to run wherever they want. But the last 2 they will be confined to pool 6 fishing the designated holes.
I haven't heard either, but i won't be able to go til the weekend anyways, when its trim down to the final six and they have to fish the specified course! Now when you say fishing the main river channel, the drop offs or flats, or what, you just fishing the worm texas rigged or c-rigged? I haven't fished the summer very much due to being boatless but trying to find ways of catching em other than spring time! I found a spot at the opening of deleware (just east of dardenelle) has a big flat about 2-6' deep and got hydrilla all in it then on the out side of it, it drops off to 25' of water and fish where all over that drop off. what should i use?
