    Lake Guntersville question

I was at Guntersville in the spring and had a pretty good trip, but while i was there i talked with several people that suggested i come back in October and fish when the grass is up for some good topwater action on frogs. My plan is to come the second week in October.. was these guy telling me correct? Is that a good time to come and is the topwater bite usually on then? All help is appreciated just looking to bring my dad and have a good time catching some largemouth.

They were telling you the truth! I went the 9th or 10th of Oct. 2 years ago, found a nice grass flat near the state park and proceeded to break a rod on the first cast. 8.5lbs. on a Frog. Lucky for me I had braid on......Caught a ton of fish near just about any grass I could throw at! Take your topwaters and go get your string stretched!!!!!

Fished the 3rd weekend in Oct last year . Best 5 went 22-6 . Turned back dozens of others , great day it was . All were caught on top water baits .

any areas better than others? i understand you probably don't want to give your hot spots away, but would you go more north or south? I usually stay in Scottsboro and put in at the county park.
