    Re: PICKWICK (Cobra 190D)

John, There are several of us fishing the Fishers of Men trail Bama NW there this weekend. If you can hold off till after this Sat 3-10 we can help you.

Do you have a GOOD lake map? I have my map scanned into jpeg's I can send you that might help. The lake is still at winter pool (3-4 ft down). She should be coming up by then and the fish are in pre-spawn right now with water temps at 55 right now. I did find some water at 61 this weekend but this cold front coming later this week should not that back some.

I will email you those map scans and some info.

    Re: PICKWICK (Cobra 190D)

One of the better maps of the Tn river system is made by Atlantic Mapping. That is the one I have. I know the BFL had a T there this last weekend when I was pre-fishing, either Bama or Choo Choo div. You can look at results, 108 boat field, 5 bags over 20 but last spot paid was 21st and weight dropped to 13+ilbs. I know one of the 20lbs sacks came from locking up one lake to Wilson. I had 27lbs couple weeks fishing Wilson lake. But dont think that will hold up. I think 15-20lbs a day would be real good.

I will gladly share with ya what I can. Should be alot of rattlebaits and spinnerbaits and some flipping if water comes up. Are you going out of Mcfarland Park in Florence or down river?

    Re: PICKWICK (Kerry201pro)

Thanks so much for your help we will be going out of florence at Mcfarland Park. I am wondering what the smallies will be doing? I am ready for anything. My strengths is finesse fishing drop shot, shakey head, football jig on bottom, but I am able to adapt well to anything. Again thanks again Kerry I am going to look at the map you mentioned and see if it is what I have if not I will get one. Take care

    Re: PICKWICK (Cobra 190D)

I want to personally thanks kerry201Pro and Eric B. thanks for all the help. I had a very enjoyable time at pickwick lake and can't wait to wack them again. I didn't do very well I finished 9th my buddy won it fishing right next to me in the horseshoe. You guys were right about the spinnerbait that is what we all caught fish on I just couldn't figure out how the fish wanted it until end of the first day and I caught an ok limit the second day 13.55lb. Thank you guys so much for what you have showed me and taught me. It means the world to me. I have never learned so much in one week of fishing and I have never caught smallies like that before and it was such a blast. The weather sucked the fishing was tough but man was it 7 days of fun.. Thanks again guys!!!!John Dubois
