    Madison County Lake

Anyone ever fished this place? It's only about 100 acres and I imagine it gets pretty crowded. Tired of driving an hour and a half to get to Gunterville and then spend most of the day picking grass off hooks or props. Any info would be appreciated.

    Re: Madison County Lake (cmansell)

it's a bigfish lake for sure, but it's been hard for me the few times I've fished it. I know in the early spring you can get your rod bent for sure.
let us know how you do.

I know they drained it completely a couple years back I think. I have never fished it other than fishing the trout area. I dont think they allow gas motors. I am not even sure if they allow you to bring your own boat.

You can't run a gas motor in there, but you can bring your own boat or rent one. There has been a few good fish caught in there. I haven't been out there in years.

I have fished Madison co lake many times. they do have some great fish there. i have caught them off the bank as well as via boat. my biggest to date at this lake is a 7 Lber.
you can in fact bring your own boat but the lake is for trolling motor only no gas motors are to be used. the lake manager is allen smallwood a super nice guy.
