Question about a g.loomis

i just bought a gloomis imx 721 and 724 tonight. my question is the 721 looks exactly like the 724 but there is a name written in gold on the other side of rod and was wondering if this is a blank or if someone just had there name written on it. the rod says nothin bout bein a blank or custom rod. i really dont think its a big loss either way i paid 40.00 a piece for them. thanks jeremiah

more than likely, someone just wrote their name on it.

sometimes, you will see initials on the underside of a gloomis factory rod (q/c), but never a whole name.

I used to do the same thing with my rods years back with a gold or silver labeling pen its not anything special.

I haven't bought a Loomis blank in a while, but the blanks used to come with the factory sticker included so you could use it if you wanted. Just because you are seeing a factory sticker doesn't mean that it isn't a custom rod built from a blank. FWIW.

Some manufacturers used to put pro-staff names on prototypes, although I don't think I've seen it on a Loomis rod.

another question i have about these rods are the reel seats. they say g.loomis and they have the metal ring to attach the reel are these the wiebe reel seats? thanks jeremiah

Yes they are

Loomis used to give 1 rod a year to dealers, it came with your name on the blank, I have a friend that used to own a tackle shop, he has some with his name on them.
