You have to actually heat the jig mold???![]()
I just heated up the lead and poured it in there.....maybe I'm removing the jig too quickly from the mold...how long should they sit in the mold to cool???

"Smoke" the mold by holding the cavities over a lit candle until they blacken. Only takes a couple seconds, but the lead will release from the mold much easier. To pre-heat the mold, set it on top of the pot as the lead heats for a few minutes. Pour a couple times. After a few pours, the mold should be up to temp. If you're still getting incomplete pours, make sure the lead is hot enough to fill the whole cavity before setting up.

Rick I usually pour 4-5 times in the cavity with no hook in it!! I find that this helps alot. The mold is warm and you shold not have any problems.. Also try sitting your mold on top of the pot when melting!! Hope this helps.. Slimm![]()

Another thing to try is "flux" your lead. Do this outside, away from anything. When the lead is molten, put in a marble size piece of candle wax. It will smoke like crazy, and may flare up. Stir it up, wait until the smoke stops, and skim the crud off the surface. Clean lead pours better.

I was having the same problem. Fluxing helped some, and pouring 'empty' pours helped some. Then i figured out i could just lay the mold on top of the pot while it was heating, and that would heat my mold up plenty! I turn it a few times to make sure both sides are getting heat, then go to town.
