    my 250 e-tecs first trip

    hi guys,

Finally today i tried my new boat with the new e-tec 250 .. full speed was 45 mph with full fuel 300 gallons my. i think its not bad considering that the boat dry weight more than 8000 pounds.

i am trying to attach some pics but i don't know how ??!!

Rusty please i have some Qs :

1- the two engines rpm is not the same !! the dealer say thats normal because the counter rotation engine rpm is always less than the other !!! i am not buying this.

2- is it true that after the 10 hour use the engine will be faster ?

3- with 4000 rpm the fuel consumption for one engine is 13 gallons ph and the other engine is 16 gallons ph is this normal ? i think this is much.

Finally i am very happy with my engines its strong its smooooooth

    Re: my 250 e-tecs first trip (Q8e)

You can send me the pictures and I can post them for you, my email address is in my profile, click on my user name.

1-The dealer is wrong, both motors should run the same RPM if adjusted correctly.

2-False, after 10 hours above 2000 RPM's the motor will stop using extra oil and may seem faster.

3-With one motor not turning the same RPM's as the other the fuel consumption will be different.....However....You are pushing a 8000 pound boat.

    Glad to help.

If you run in saltwater I would suggest you flush the motors every time, I have never been to Kuwait.

Re: my 250 e-tecs first trip (bisbby)

    Newbie here,
Just purchased an Evinrude E-tec 225 HO for my 1986 Baja Sunsport 200. Final cost with prop and rigging was 16,400. Pick up time is tomorrow. The old motor was a 220 Laser XRI, and odd ball motor at the least. Two pistions were blown when I bought this boat. If I can figure out how to post one. I will post a pic.
