    98 vindicator 225 #2 carb question

Going to get ready to do the recommended carb work on my motor and had a few quick questions. I had the answer in an IM, but didn't save it so

What is the stock jet size on the #2 carb? I know I am supposed to go up 2 sizes. Also, just a general Q, why just the #2 carb? Was it smaller the the other carbs, or were all the same size?

    Thanks!!

    #2

    Re: 98 vindicator 225 #2 carb question (JF1)

The #2 carb provides the vacuum for the recirculation system to lubricate the upper main bearing. As oil droplets work their way to the bottom main bearing (thrust bearing) the vacuum from #2 intake manifold "sucks" up the used oil and pulls it up thru a hose and through a check valve all the way up to the upper main roller bearing, and from there to #2. Because the air in the line makes #2 cylinder run a bit leaner and hotter than the others, extra fuel from a larger main jet makes sense.

Simply remove one or two from the carb bowl and look at the stamp on the side. And remember #2 carb is opposite #2 cylinder.
