Here's my 2nd try at painting.

I call this color Copperhead. I really need to thank Patrick Payne (Big Bass Man) for answering all my questions. I ruined a Berkley Frenzy tonight after I painted it because of the #*$% Devcon 2. I already hate the stuff. Can anyone give me some feedback on a product called Seal Coat Lure Finish? Thanks!

That looks great, your way ahead of the game !! Your more than welcome my friend, anything I can do to help, just give me a shout. On the devcon side, make sure you mix 50/50 , mix well for about 30 seconds and apply. You can take a blow dryer or heatgun and warm the bait a little and warm the epoxy and get a little more applying time.

Yeah, 30 minute. The problem I had was that I put it on the bait too thick. I took my heat gun to try and flow it out and I got it too hot and the epoxy set up on me.

I would recommend keeping the epoxy at room temperature and it will apply easier once you get it covered you can go over it with a heat gun not much though and then re spread it out with your brush and put it on the turner it should level out for the most part on its on looks like your off to a great start looking forward to seeing more of your work

2ton definitely can be a pain in the a. Like stated above I use a hair dryer and heat the bait a little to get the epoxy to flow better. If you can get some syringes it will really help with getting the mix right. Remember its 50/50 by volume, not weight. I made the mistake of trying to measure by weight, the 2ton will stay tacky. Your baits really nice by the way.

+1 I love devcon2T 30 min... I have never had an issue using it. Use perfect 50/50 mix using syringes, mix well for 1-2 min and brush on quickly using an acid wash brush. I brush on alot quickly and brush off as much as I can quickly put it on the turner imediatly.

The only time I have had a problem with 2Ton is trying to mix up too much and paint too many baits. I have found that if I mix enough for 2 baits and just paint 2 baits, I can get the baits painted and onto the turner before it gets too tacky to work with.

On the mixture - I have the plunger type 2Ton so as I push down on the plunger, I get equal amounts of the mix. So far, been good for me.

On the paints - I love the colors. Great job!

That's a great tip right there!! Thanks. I also use the plunger type and I have no complaints about it. From now on I'll just mix up a small batch at a time.

Looking good. Like some other's said, don't waste your time with sealcoat on crankbaits. Keep up the good work.
