Thread colors for a pink rod?

Need some suggestions on thread colors for a pink blank. Have one of the custom builder blanks from Mudhole ordered so I can build a rod for my granddaughter. Thinking a 2-color scheme.

    Metalic red?
What colour is the reel? Maybe match that.

any kind of purple (metallic or otherwise) or any pastel colors.

black w/ black frame guides would be pretty cool too.

purple with silver metallic accents or silver metallic with red accents

Lime green. Navy blue. Purple. All would work.

Here's a tip - go to any of these websites selling the monogrammed stuff for ladies and you can get some awesome color scheme ideas for ladies' rods.

    I use this one: http://www.morgan-company.com/

Look at car tags, note cards, bags, etc. It helps see colors together beforehand.

I'll post a pic a little later of the one I did for my daughter on one of those pink blanks.

I have the same problem. That's why I go somewhere else to find the combos first!

This was using the purple blank, but you could reverse the colors. I wasn't super happy with the grip, but my little girl loves it. So it's all good.

Thanks Alex. I think that color combo would look good on a pink blank. Maybe I'll play with photoshop a little and see what I can come up with.

I'd really consider a lime green on a pink blank too. It's a sharp contrast. Check this - http://www.pinkandgreenscene.com/

white (or any light colored thread) = lots of issues with bleeding thru. Even with thread sealer...

if you are going to go for the light color, my advice is to go with a metalic thread

other issue is with time, white will end up being yellow as the epoxy yellows. No way to avoid it. You can always paint the blank white under the white wrap and eliminate bleed thru. Just takes time to mask it off, etc. Black guide foot is still going to show thru though.

    Re: (cidgrad)

I think I found some colors I like. Now I need to cut it all off and put it where I want it and get the spacing right.
