    Powder Painting

I have made my own jigs and shakey heads for a while. I continue to have trouble curing the powder paint well enough to prevent chipping. I fish on VERY rocky lakes and most if not all jigs no matter the brand will chip, but I need mine to be a little more durable than what they are. I cure the heads for over the recommended time and a little hotter. I cannot quote you exactly what temp and time I use right now. any tips for curing?

Have you tried double curing? Some colors i have better luck if i cure at 300 for 20-30 min. let cool and then cure again the same way. Hope this helps.

What are you curing them in?
Are you sure the temp is what you set it at?
I know on my toaster oven my temp is set just over 400 degrees and I cure for 1 hour. I dont know if its really 400 but thats what works.
You might want to increase your temp and cure a handful and try them till you get a solid finish that doesnt chip.
Powder paint is all trail and error, but once you get it right its tough as nails.

You can pick up a oven thermomater at Wallmart for cheap to see what temp your toaster oven is really at.
