Inspired - how does someone get started?

Seeing these custom painted lures has me wanting to try it. Some of the artwork is truly amazing. How would someone get started doing this? I read where someone just uses the cheapo airbrush from harbor freight. Where do you get the other item such as the createx paint, the cloth used for making the scales effect, etc.?

When you guys do these I imagine it's adantageous to do multiple lures at one time to use the paint more efficiently. Any info that can be provided would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

You can find Createx at Hobby Lobby or most any craft store. Go to Walmart and get some wedding veil material to use for making scales. You can also by "scale masking material" from Jann's Netcraft. http://www.jannsnetcraft.com They have a good inventory of lure making supplies, including airbrushes, paints, unpainted crankbaits, lure eyes, etc... I would recomend practicing on old baits, or you can buy some cheap knock off blanks to practice on. Predator has some good ones. http://www.predatorbassbaits.com Have fun with it.
