    Built a spray booth.

Maybe now I can get back to painting. Its 24X16X20.
Used a bathroom exhaust fan. I paint with nothing but CTex so its more for just dust management. On the exhaust tube coming from the fan I plan on putting a vacuum cleaner bag just for insurance. I painted a bait right away and had a peice of white paper at the exhaust, it didnt show any signs that any paint or dust made it past the filter.

Cheaper to keep a kid in tourney fishing than paying attorneys to keep them out of jail !!

Cool idea, but most fart fans dont move much CFM's especially with a filter to pull it through. I may copy your idea some and use a 20 in box fan and furnace filters. You might also consider putting some lighting in the box.

I have been using a range hood for 20 years. I built 3 sides with plywood lifiting the hood up to the height of my liking. Vented it to my basement window cutting plywood just smaller than window opening and wrapping the edges with plumbing pipe foam wrap. This holds it in the opening and seals it off. Connected with 6-8 in flex pipe. Works pretty good and has lights and filters in it too. I pour my lead under the hood to keep the lead fumes and nasties out and can see really well.

The exhaust tube is showing signs of paint dust so I know that its pulling good enough. I'm either gonna have to vent it through the window or the vacuum cleaner bag like I thought. Will be adding a light whenever I get to Lowest or HD.

The vaccuum bag will even bog the cfms even more.. I tried this with a 70cfm and 100 cfm fart fan and it didnt work like I wanted. Maybe yours is better. Mine had 4 in exhaust, most cheap/weak ones only have 3 inch.

Hmmm. Maybe a collection box of sorts might work.

why not use a blower out of a i/o boat they make them in alot of sizes and they will move some air....nascar teams use them as bead blowers to cool the tire bead
run it thru filter and a standard dryer vent outside

I think they are 12V and would need a battery or a regulated DC power supply. The filter needs to be before/infront of the motor/fan.

    Re: (21XDC)

Air movement doesn't seem to be an issue, its catching the dust that I'm worried about. I considered using a shop vac and drum like a dust collector but that would be loud as hell. Exhausting through the window may be the best choice.

Yep, the shop vac was in my mind too as I have a couple anyway. But they are loud and annoying.

Maybe with trial and error we can put our ideas together and make something great.
