    Melting & Splitting LC RC1.5s!!!!!!

I bought quite a few RC1.5 cranks in May. I opened my box up and found 2 of them were completely melted beyond use and 2 others were starting to split on the top seam. I have not left my tackle in my boat other than during a fishing day. The 4 baits that are ruined never even saw the water. Being that these are BassPro exclusive products, should I be awarded an exchange from BassPro? I might not be so mad if they were $5 cranks, but we're talking $16/piece here!

I certaintly would take them back. If a bait can't take southern heat even if left outside, it shouldn't be sold in the South.

I found some info on the box that the rick clunn set of RC's that said that if the baits where exposed to temps above 104 degrees for an extended period of time that they could split and or swell

Never saw it anywhere else but on that box the baits come in

I have lost a lot of baits from the heat. It sucks but im sure there isnt any way around it with abs plastic lures. All were different brands. It usually happens if they are in some real good heat for an extended time. Direct heat is the worst. The best thing i came up with is to take all of my boxes out when i get home and not leave them on the deck of the boat while fishing. Im sure BPS will take them back but it will happen again if you dont take the melting factor into consideration on really hot days. Sorry for your loss, those are great baits.

I think those will be fine. IMO.....direct sunlight on very hot days is what would cause this to happen
