    Devcon epoxy Question

i had had no trouble applying this to my baits in warm weather now the temp dropped and im having issues with applying it and the drying time has got way longer i have no heat in my shop so i guess my question is should i move my drying wheel inside the house and put the epoxy on there or should this be happening thanks in advance

Like any 2 part epoxy or resin mix, the warmer it is, the faster it dries. You could use a heat gun or hair dryer to thin the mix out before applying if it to thick. You can also set up a high wattage light bulb in box with your dryer to warm things up..Just be sure not to create a fire hazard!

My experience with Devcon is to keep it warm so it will flow and smooth out. I keep a heater on the workbench for this in cool weather. you will only get 3 baits max out of a batch B4 it hardens up. Heat speeds up the process so be careful. Don't get caught halfway through a bait when it sets up. I use Devcon when I need a bait done quick. The rest of the time i use envirotex. Generally it takes about 8 hrs to cure. I will turn my baits with both types of epoxy.

I'm a one coater........no issues so far...............stay with Devcon............Etex is VERY VERY VERY sensitive to mix ratio

however, if you can GUARANTEE 50/50 every time you mix it, it works great

You really need to keep your paints and Devcon inside to keep it all from freezing.

Heating the baits before you apply the Devcon helps, but overall you would be better off inside.
