    Clear coat.....rattle can??

I just finished painting some baits with the ol rattle can...I usually would just put a coat of devcon 2 ton epoxy over them, but I havent been 100% satified with the results....could I just use like a spray epoxy or laquer? Im looking to use something that I can get locally

    thanks

You can do that but they won't last very long. I have never seen any type of spray on finish that was hard enough for a top coat.

Lowes does sell a two part epoxy thats a lot like etex. I don't know if its as good or not. I have never used any of it. I used one from Home Depot and it wasn't near as good as etex.

GO TO A HOBBY SHOP-or online at HobbyShack/HObbyLobby---------that sell remote control plane kits have a brand named RED BARON paints they are epoxy and the clear I have used many times on smithwick devil horses'
I take all the hardware off use 200 grit sandpapper to knock off the glaze then spray the lures with couple coats of RED BARON CLEAR EPOXY can spray it is quite tough and last all spring where the factory finish only last 1 or 2 trips then the wood is water logged .
It may not be as good as what of the custom guys use but it will be better than any other paint in a can for this....JMO
