    Trailer Keeper for Jigs (HELP)

    Guys,

A buddy of mine and I are going to make two custom jig-molds this winter. We are going to make a grass jig mold and a football head mold. I am particularly interested in making a jig that will hold a platic trailer in place.

I am looking for some feedback on how we can modify and apply a “trailer keeper” similar to the one on the picture below (this is an All-Terrain jig). It looks to be some sort of stainless steel wire…

Any feedback on how to mold or attached it to the mold would be greatly appreciated…

    Thanks,

    C-Man

I would can the ss wire idea and use lead. This will eliminate the need and hassle of the wire and make the head smaller to sneak through the weeds/grass.

Something like this with a few extra lead barbs.

Lunker City jigs have the best trailer grip system I've found, much better than any wired option. If I was gonna copy something that would be it.

I like this Weedless Flippin' Jig design from Stamina. The extra "tit" holds the trailer really well for me.

If you have your heart set on that trailer, take Spinnerbait wire cut it in about 1 1/2" lenghts slip it in with the hook and after you slide your skirt on bend it about 110 degrees. They are handy but tend to be a pia

I prefer the lead "tit" as well. The stainless ones are always a pain for some reason.

Contact Mustang Wire as they are the ones who make them. They will have a minimum number you need to buy and if it is more than you want contact me as I know someone who has some? As for the pic of the other jig that barb and collar are not Do-It but look like Cast Industries design.
