I use them on my rods.
Be prepared to shell out $50.00 or more depending on how many and what size/style weights you get.
Talk to Pat at amity harbor. He'll hook you up.
Rob,
They are great systems, they look awesome and work very well. I think George has an article on his website about installing the female portion of the system into the blank. They are pricey, but I think George can get them for you.
There is another system available that has a black rubber end plug with brass weights, its pretty nice looking (nowhere near as cool as the matagi) and it runs around $18. If you are interested in that one IM me for the details.
I can certainly get them for you. I have them mounted primarily on my flipping rods and I love them. I have clients that have them on all of their rods, just so they are able to adjust the balance of their rod. The system will be about $50, depending on the number of weights we put onto your system. The max that you can install are two 5 mm and one 2 mm and still have enough threads left to secure the system.
I do have an article on my website on how to install the system.
Let me know if you have any questions......George
I need to get one of these and check it out, heard too many good things about them![]()
George I have a customer who wants one on a two piece swimbait rod i just designed for him. and after that I'll need two more for a couple of swimbait rods i am building for a guy in our club who wants to fish some tournaments in California.

Check out http://www.matagi.co.jp and look at the english site.
Contact Mamoru san(owner of matagi) for an 08 catalog. he has come out with quite a bit of new parts for 08 including some new balancing gear.
Dang...thanks for the link. Now, I have more toys to choose from! lol. I appreciate you sharing. I marked that link so I can try to keep up with all the new components.
If you guys want to order those components, I can arrange to have the shipped directly to you from Merrick. Just let me know what you want and I'll get it for you.
Take care.........George
George.. whats the ballpark figure on the matagi handle kits? i've never seen a price on them and they look pricey... but pretty slick too!
They are nice. I've built a couple for clients and the cost will run just over $100 to over $200. I prefer to get the components seperately and build my own. With my Jett lathe, I can shape the Mooseskin EVA with no problem.
Just a thought.....George
